How Does Digital Printing Help Me?
We can use the cloud to share high resolution artwork proofs with clients and can print directly from the approved or supplied files. Digital printing means that files are sent directly to printers, usually as a PDF file after being produced in design software such as InDesign.

Digital printing offers rapid setup and the ability to print on demand. The output of digital printing machines are super-fast. For example at Southport Printing Co. our machines can print up to 170 impressions per minute which lets us complete high volumes of prints in a shorter time frame than traditional offset printing methods.
Digital Printing Saves Money
With digital printing there is very little wastage. We are able to print the exact number of copies that customers want. Historically, printing required up to 10% over print which went straight into the rubbish bin – so there is a tick for the environment too!
How Does Digital Printing Differ?
Digital printing differs from traditional offset printing as it prints directly onto the paper. There are no print plates required so the overall print production time is lowered.

Fast Personalisation of Print Materials
Because digital printing means that each piece of paper that is printed onto is unique, these can be personalised. All we need from you is your customer database and we can print anything directly onto your job as it runs through the machines and the additional cost is minimal as it only requires your database to be checked and loaded leaving the machines to do the rest.
Case Study: Last Minute Menu Design & Print
During an extreme weather event with unprecedented volumes of rain across South East Queensland, some businesses were having trouble with their supply chain. Not only was food production impacted, but road closures meant that freight and scheduled orders weren’t coming through either.
A local Gold Coast restaurant had to make last minute changes to their usual dinner menu during this period. The restaurant made an SOS call to Southport Printing Co. and we were able to design and print their new menu. In fact, we were dispatching the prints to our courier network just two hours after we’d received artwork approval. Our fast, frequent couriers took less than an hour to deliver the menus and dinner service wasn’t impacted.
