Brad is a highly-skilled offset print specialist, who has been employed at Southport Printing Co. for over 15 years.

After making the move from Sydney to the Gold Coast in 2006, Brad took his position at Southport Printing Co. and has been happy in the role ever since.

Brad operates a Speed Master 52, two colour machine. In his role, Brad specifically mixes inks to create the desired PMS colour for every print job that comes into his area of the factory. This machine uses metal plates, which feature inked images that are transferred (or “offset”) from the plates to rubber blankets, then to the paper. Once printed, the jobs that Brad produces are moved to the finishing area to be finished using processes such as trimming, perforating, die cutting, celloglazing and book binding.

Brad and wife

In Brad’s final years of high school, he worked part time at a local butchery in his home suburb in NSW. Although Brad enjoyed the pocket money, this was not the trade for him. He signed up to a print machinery trade, which he completed over the next 4 years and has now been a printer for 29 years.

Brad lives in the Gold Coast Hinterland and loves the laid-back lifestyle that this provides for him and his family. His property backs onto a reserve which his three cats love to explore. Brad and his wife Kerry have a huge number of wild Kookaburras that visit them daily; they have feeding stations positioned in the backyard which the birds are now trained to wait at prior to feeding time.

Brad and Kerry keep fit with regular long walks on the beach, often to take in the sunrise. This is always followed by a morning coffee overlooking the water for the perfect start to the day! Brad is a big fan of Manchester United and is often awake all hours to catch the games on the other side of the world. Closer to home, Brad enjoys the NRL and is a keen Sharks supporter.

Brad is a valuable member of the Southport Printing Co. team.

The management and staff at Southport Printing Co. value Brad and the skills and knowledge that he brings to the company.
