Jess’ bubbly voice is the friendly sound that customers often hear when calling Southport Printing Co. As Jess is seated at the main entrance of Southport Printing Co., Jess’ face is also the first face that greets you when visit us.
Jess has been in the print industry for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of print. Jess started working for Andrew Kelly, one of the Southport Printing Co. directors, 22 years ago and has seen the industry change throughout the years.
‘I started in printing by chance as I took the job as an accounts trainee many, many years ago. The industry was much more involved than I could have imagined, and I enjoy the ongoing challenge of learning everything that there is to learn about printing’ said Jess. ‘It has been fantastic to be with Southport Printing Co. since the beginning, especially recent years, with the significant growth in the sign and display area.’
Jess’ role has evolved over the years and it is fair to say now that Jess has the most varied role in the business. From payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, personal assistant, customer service, to helping wherever there is a body needed. Jess does a great job at solving many problems for the company. One of Jess’ best attributes is that she does not believe in hierarchy, although she respects her managers, she firmly believes that everyone is equal in the workplace and treats them accordingly.
As a wife and mum, Jess is kept super busy juggling all things in life. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with the friends and family, water skiing and taking the dog for walks when she can. In recent years, Jess has gained a strong passion for health and fitness and enjoys her time at the gym.
Jess grew up right here on the Gold Coast and went to Merrimac High School. ‘I love so many things about the Gold Coast, in particular the variety of activities, attractions and natural wonders that can be enjoyed with your family and friends.’ said Jess.
