Our Support to The Smith Family
Southport Printing Co. is proud to continue our support for The Smith Family into 2022
Southport Printing Co. values The Smith Family and what they do within their organisation to help many families Australia wide as a charity organisation.
The Smith Family is an independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
The funds that Southport Printing Co. donates to the cause will ensure that a number of local Gold Coast children will go back to school to start the 2022 school year armed with the basics that they may not have otherwise had. This includes essentials such as school uniforms including shirts, shorts and school shoes, stationary such as books, pens and other basic stationery and a school bag. In addition to this, our support will mean that some local Gold Coast children can attend extra-curriculum activities including school excursions that they may not have otherwise been able to attend. School excursions are often a luxury for disadvantaged families and so many such families simply cannot afford to pay to send their children to excursions with their peers.
We Support Charities at a Local and National Level
As a locally owned and operated business, we believe in supporting our community at both a local Gold Coast and nationwide level.
Our commitment to charities is a key part of our business plan. As a family owned and operated business, we place a high emphasis on the value that charities bring to our community. Although a number of cash donations are planned for 2022, our commitment extends beyond the traditional donation of money to a number of other areas. This includes donation of labour and time, discounted printing of flyers and collateral for fundraising events and discounted and complimentary creative work from our design team.
‘At Southport Printing Co., we encourage all our staff to get behind various charities that we support. In 2022, we will be hosting our 5th Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in our boardroom in support of Cancer Council. This event is a great way for the team to get together and acknowledge this great cause’ Ian Harry, Director Southport Printing.
Labour is Key
Supporting charities by way of donation of labour is in line with our company’s corporate values. We encourage all the staff at Southport Printing Co. to volunteer several times throughout the year during paid work hours. In 2022, the Southport Printing Co. staff can again be seen out selling daffodils in support of Cancer Council for Daffodil Day, at the Christmas gift wrapping station at Australia Fair in support of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation and at various events for LIVIN.
‘LIVIN is a non-profit mental health organisation whose vision is to break the stigma of mental health and improve people’s mental health through early intervention and prevention initiatives. Getting involved with their many fundraising activities throughout the year is a fantastic way to help raise not only funds but awareness for this organisation and the value that it brings to society.’ Paul Madden, Sales Manager, Southport Printing Co.
Giving Life
For something that benefits all of society, we encourage staff to leave work early to donate blood or plasma at the Southport branch of the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood twice a year.
With the global pandemic entering its third year, it is more important than ever for us to continue our support to our various charities.
