From the paper, toner and inks that we use through to the engineering of equipment, Southport Printing Co. strives to be as eco-friendly as possible.

Use of Soy-Based Ink

Soy-based ink, as the name suggests, is made from soybeans. Soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly than traditional ink as soy-based inks do not use petrochemical oils and paper printed with soy-based ink is easier to recycle.

In addition to being better for the environment, soy-based ink produces a more accurate representation of the colour profiles selected in your digital file.

Use of FSC Certified Paper

FSC certified paper is paper that has been harvested in a responsible manner. FSC is an acronym for the Forest Stewardship Council, which is an independent, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that works to promote the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

In addition to sourcing soy-based ink and FSC certified paper, Southport Printing Co. recycles all toner cartridges and paper waste from the factory.
